In the United States, Monday begins the multi-day mourning ceremonies for the late former President George H. W. Bush. From Monday night (local time) to Wednesday, Bush’s coffin is to be laid out in the rotunda of the Capitol in Washington to give the public the opportunity to be honored. US President Donald Trump wants to send the presidential plane Air Force One to Houston, Texas, to take the coffin from there to Washington.

For Wednesday, the US authorities ordered a one-day national mourning for Bush’s honor. Trump and his wife Melania also want to attend the national funeral in the Washington Cathedral. Dozens of heads of state and government from all over the world are expected to do so. Bush was President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. He died on Friday at the age of 94 years.
