China’s total imports and exports between January and mid-November this year surpassed the full 2017 trading volume, as evidenced by Saturday’s customs data. The Customs Administration did not publish exact figures, but said the volume was nearly 15 percent higher than in the same period of 2017.
Total foreign trade in the country totaled 27.79 trillion yuan (about 3.5 trillion euros) in 2017, an increase of 14.2 percent over 2016. Exports and imports posted stronger-than-expected growth in October despite growing external uncertainties. Foreign trade in the first ten months of the year amounted to 25.05 trillion yuan, which is 11.3 percent more than in the same period last year. The Customs Administration will publish the trade data from January to November on the 8th of December.
